Exciting Ecological Development at Beveren
The developments at Beveren Golf Club look set to be one of the most exciting projects undertaken in Belgium for a very long time. The course is being extended from 6 to 9 holes and is being transformed from a golf school into a 9 hole par 37 course. The land measures close to 30Ha and is positioned in a stunning location right next to the Antwerp Harbour.

The style will be a typical links feel with irregular shaped bunkers and high dunes rising to 12m. The really exciting development is the huge ecozone on site that will be enlarged and restored to its natural shape. Established vegetation, including orchids, will remain and new shapes will be integrated in such a way that they will appear is if always having been there.

Ecologists have been consulted at all times and permits have been granted to allow play within the ecozone. As such, Beveren looks set to become one of the most highly regarded eco golf projects of its kind. It is a tremendous challenge which Dimitri will be working on with contractor AHA de Man. The project commenced on 25th October.

Royal Belgium Golf Club Looks to Diamond Golf to help Maintain its Position at the Top
The Royal Belgian Golf Club in Brussels is a highly regarded course in a fantastic location at the heart of Belgium's capital, Brussels. After Diamond advised the club on renovation works to its bunkers in 2008, Royal Belgium has turned to Dimitri once more to help them maintain their position as one of Europe's leading courses.

The historic Simpson-designed course is located in an arboretum created during the reign of King Leopold II. It has beautiful existing natural undulations and is located next to Europe’s largest forest of century old beech trees so the setting is stunning. Belgium’s highest regarded tournament, The Telenet Trophy, will be held at Royal Belgium in 2012 and so they have engaged Diamond Golf Architects to improve the course even further and maintain its reputation as one of the best.

The renovation project will include new bunkers and newly integrated greens.
