Ternesse Enters 2nd Phase
Now that Phase 1 has been completed, Dimitri is busy getting stuck into Phase 2 – totally rebuilding a new par 3 which will be completely re-turfed. This should be ready for use before Phase 3 starts, ensuring that all holes remain in play throughout the works. The objective of Phase 3, which will commence work later this year, will be to enhance the strategy of the holes. To do this Dimitri has designed a scheme that will replace most of the bunkers, change all tees from high built landing strips to organic shaped tees, improving the visibility of all the water features and improving drainage generally.

‘Happy’ to get a Facelift!
Happy Waregem Golf Club Upgraded
Having been subject to a change in ownership recently, Dimitri has been brought in to advise on an aesthetic upgrade of the bunkers at Happy Waregem Golf course in the west of Belgium. This involved introducing new bunker sand from Germany which has made a dramatic improvement on the quality of the course already.

Work Continues at Oudenaarde
Dimitri is involved in a large scale project to improve the course at Oudenaarde Golf and Country Club – the largest golf course in the Flemish part of Belgium. Spanning the next 5 years, all areas of the course will be subject to significant improvements. Comprising two 18 hole courses and a 4 hole pitch and putt facility, the first phase of development at Oudenaarde will start with the Kasteel course. The parkland aspect will be improved, highlighting the open character of the Flemish Ardennes surrounding the area. The course itself will be enhanced by adding mounds and hollows, upgrading bunkers and their locations and changing tees. Importantly, the scheme will also encompass works to the existing trees, planting new species for sustainability and create better harmony with the ponds on the site which are currently out of sight due to poor tree maintenance.
