Royal Zoute Golf Club
Dimitri works on the "hidden gem" of Belgium!
Diamond Golf Architects is honoured to have worked on the historic Royal Zoute Golf Club at Knocke close to the Belgian coast. The course (actually made up of two courses and ranked #1 in Belgium) was originally designed by Harry S. Colt in 1907 and is located in a breathtaking landscape of pine, hawthorn hedges and silver birch. Steve Marnoch from Golfmarnoch consulted on the project and Dimitri worked closely with Count Lippens, the President and owner of the club, and head greenkeeper Marc Lewis to renovate some of the old bunkers on the vast 36 hole course.
Nick Faldo once called Royal Zoute a "hidden gem" and Diamond Golf has worked hard to maintain a style that fits in with its surroundings, echoing the style of the existing bunkers.

Getting Back To Nature
Golfclub Heelsumseveld
Dimitri is involved in a major renovation project at Golfclub Heelsumseveld as an external consultant to Steve Marnoch. Split into 2 phases, the first is almost complete and the results so far are stunning. The objective of the renovations is to create an organic, natural landscape through roughly edged bunkers, the introduction of pinus sylvestris, sandy scrapes and swales as well as transplanting thousands of square metres of heather. All credit goes to the contractor, Heymans, who is doing an excellent job.
